Victor Vasarely’s early drawings and graphic designs in the Collection of the Museum of Fine Arts – Vasarely Museum It was towards the end of the 1950s that Victor Vasarely decided to take a stand against the political prejudices of the times, convince the Hungarian devotees of socialist realism, and organize an exhibition in Hungary that would represent the progressivism of the new geometric abstract art of the period.

The hundred thousandth visitor at the Cézanne-exhibition was received Saturday morning at the Szépművészeti Múzeum. Tibor Tóth from Szombathely came with his family to see the show. The lucky visitor became a member of the Friends of the Museum, thanks to which among other bonuses he can visit the exhibitions of the Szépművészeti Múzeum and the Magyar Nemzeti Galéria free for a year. Besides this, thanks to the Paris Budapest Restaurant the winner will take part in a dinner for two, at which a menu of French delicacies prepared by chef Jeremy Cayron will be served.
