An Exhibition Devoted to the Sculptress Márta Pán

7 July 2009 – 20 September 2009

7 July 2009 - 7 August 2009

In spring 2009, the Budapest Museum of Fine Arts will devote an exhibition to the latest works of the sculptress Márta Pán, who passed away recently. Visitors will be able to see ten of the artist's monumental steel sculptures displayed in the largest spaces of the museum. These works will not appear as exhibits of art per se but rather as objects that are part of our everyday environment.

These sculptures, built upon the "dialogue" between architecture and plastic art, demonstrate their power to redefine interior space. Márta Pán's sculptures are displayed in public spaces in various European and American cities, and in the past year some thirty of them were erected in Japan.
