An Exhibition Devoted to the Sculptress Marta Pan
In the spring of 2009, the Budapest Museum of Fine Arts devoted an exhibition to the latest works of the sculptress Márta Pán, who passed away recently. Visitors could see ten of the artist’s monumental steel sculptures displayed in the largest spaces of the museum. These works did not appear as exhibits of art per se but rather as objects that are part of our everyday environment.
These sculptures, built upon the "dialogue" between architecture and plastic art, demonstrate their power to redefine interior space. Márta Pán's sculptures are displayed in public spaces in various European and American cities, and in the past year some thirty of them were erected in Japan.
