The Museum of Fine Arts, Budapest has become a node in the Linked Open Data cloud.
By publishing the descriptions of its 4000 artefacts on the semantic web with the help of ALIADA tool, the Museum of Fine Arts, Budapest follows the lead of famous museums and libraries such as the British Museum, the Smithsonian Museum, the Yale Center for British Art, or the National Széchényi Library.
The Museum of Fine Arts, Budapest has entered the age of linked data leaving behind the age of linked web pages – the first museum to do so in Hungary – with the aim to provide more complex services for the web users.
The primary consumers of linked data are computers but humans can also decipher it. On this link the description of the painting Light Grey Wall by Josef Albers can be seen in linked data format.
